Gilly's Snug Harbour Restaurant & Marine: Exquisite Dining on Georgian Bay

Excellent food, even better service. Mitchell was super friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Going to Gilly's has become a tradition of ours after a weekend of paddling around Franklin. 10/10 recommend.

2023 update: this place just keeps getting better, more outside seating options, service was amazing, always have a great time here. Burgers, Prime Rib and the fish all received praise from our group of 7. Fantastic meal. Great escargot, and calamari, excellent Greek salad. Very nice old restaurant looking over the bay with really good food. About a 15 minute drive from Killbear Provincial park. As with any great restaurant, there may be a bit of a wait but well worth it and you can hang out on the porch having a beer while you wait. Not what I expected from a little restaurant up here but amazing none the less. On the menu they also have Chicken Fingers with the caption "not what you came for".

Anne was amazing and so wonderful! The food was super good! The pickerel was so moist and the batter was so light! The fish chowder was great! The cheese burger was so moist and juicy! This is definitely a place that I will be coming back to!

We were a group of 15 and we had made reservations. Recommended! Lovely atmosphere and service with great meal recommendations that most of us followed. I had the deep fried pickerel and fries that were very tasty. My wife had the fish tacos and salad. It was delicious. We did not have the dessert, but a few of them arrived at our table and everyone seem to enjoy them. Oh I did have a spoonful of the apple crumble. It was tasty as well. Mostly everything was positive except. We have started tipping cash and no longer put it on our credit card. A 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. This was explained to us when the waitress gave us the bill. Apparently it takes extra work to make five bills for larger groups. It would be nice to have that explained before having it surprise you at the end. I have no problem tipping, but I prefer to do it my way. So what started out as a great evening for me was soured by the surprise.

Gilly's is a classic fish house restaurant by Land's End Georgian bay, just north of Parry Sound. A brief 20-minute jaunt to the west of Hiway 400 brings you to a scenic marina nestled in the creeks, trees, and Shield. "What you came here for": local fish. The Pickeral is outstanding. As well as trout and whitefish. You can get it pretty much any way you prefer, from smoked to blackened, to pan fried. In fact, they are the only restaurant that I've ever known that makes a proper frish & chips using lake fish, with homemade coleslaw and fresh cut russet potato fries. The drink menu offers a fresh squeezed lemonade made in-house. Gilly's has a dynamic and diverse list of signature cocktails, as well as a fine variety of craft beers. Their quality wine list is both outstanding and diverse. A tall glass or carafe of lovely local tap water with ice and lemon is offered on the menu for free for those who want to keep it simple or simply cleanse their palate. Gilly's drink menu seems like it has been tailored and paired towards both their particular menu and beautiful sunny summer weather. For all the quality and ambiance, prices are reasonable.

Our first time here from killbear park! It was so yummy, we will be back next year when we are camping again! We had Ava as our server who was super helpful and offered great service even when it was super busy. We had deep fried pickerel and it was the best I’ve ever had so so good!
